Manchester rocked in the rain...

Fantastic gig by The Boss and worth the drive and overnight stay.

Hadn't been to the Etihad before and gotta say that, even with the schlep up a number of motorways, it was a doddle to get to compared to the horror that is any journey to Wembley.

The accoustics were miles better, too, especially for those of us gathered on the pitch.

OK, so it rained all evening and we were togged up in our ponchos and caps but we didn't care. The Manchester crowd was fantastic and to hear 55,000 voices roaring along to Thunder Road and, in fact, every other song in a great set just made the heart soar and for a little over three glorious hours everything else was put on the back burner: from that bloody referendum to the latest manuscript. There was only the music...

An utterly brilliant night...

Especially for the mad guy who dressed up as Santa..!
