NO 1: DON'T PANIC....

NO 2: CHANGE YOUR SHORTS...

I know, not funny (well, it sorta is), but I can't help recalling that old 1938 radio broadcast, when Orson Wells' production of the H G Wells classic The War of the Worlds hit the airwaves.

Although there were many sensationalist accounts in the press about the supposed panic in the streets caused by the broadcast, because listeners thought the alien invasion was real, the precise extent of the response has been much debated.

It'll be interesting to see how history looks back on the latest scare as it is, in the light of recent international events, a tad more serious.

And let's not forget the day that will live in infamy: December 7th 1941.

Yesterday, I reckon if I'd received the above text on my phone I'd have been heading for the hills, too.

Until, 40 odd minutes after the event, the State Governor, David Ige, apologised to Hawaiians, saying an employee had pressed the wrong button.

THE WRONG BUTTON..? WTF..?

Which prompts the immediate question:

Which friggin' button did he or she think they were pressing?
