If it's summer it must be festival time and the Chalke Valley extravaganza just gets better and better with each passing year.

This year's festival is only a month and a bit away so better book your tickets now.

Set amid glorious countryside, it's a fantastic day out.

As well as brilliant talks by some wonderful speakers, there are shed loads of activities to enjoy, from the Trench Experience where you'll get a vivid flavour of the conditions in which men fought during the D-Day landings to Wars of the Roses - Arms and Armour.

Or how about the History of Exploration - The Viking Longship? Or maybe The Rise and Fall of the Longbow, War Photography, Waterloo Uncovered or The Tudor Arms Race?

There'll be lashings of food and drink (no fast food franchises), the Emporium for shopping, and the Waterstones tent where you can get your books signed by your favourite speakers.
